Instead of packing today, Tim helped me reorganize my craft room. I'll take some pictures tomorrow when there's better lighting (and when I'm not totally exhausted from a crazy day). The main goal was to address the ongoing problem of my Giant Scrapbooking Stash. You see... before I started knitting, my big hobby was scrapbooking. Since I picked up the knitting needles though, the hobby has sadly fallen by the wayside. Today, I took stock of my scrapbooking supplies, got rid of all the 8 million never-going-to-use-them things on my shelves and now I'm down to a nice, manageable, usable set up of scrapbooking, cardmaking, and stamping stupplies. I have every intention of getting back to scrapbooking (or at a minimum making cards), but the amount of junk I had was keeping me from getting to all my really good supplies.
I feel a lot better.
More importantly, my sewing machine now has a permanent home. And the fabric stash? That found a home as well. We had to move my bookcases around, so it still feels a bit odd - but I'm sure I'll get used to it soon.
Now... I really need to get packing!!! It's going to be a crazy week - Tim starts his new job on Monday (hooray for Tim!), Tuesday is Tim's birthday (hooray for Tim again!), and then I leave for Australia on Wednesday. Not sure if I'll have a second to catch my breath between now and then :)
Oh, I'd also like to seriously recommend a new movie - Stardust (trailer here), which we saw on Friday night. A bit of a cross betwen the Princess Bride and something I can't quite put my finger on. The movie is based on a book by one of my favorite authors, Neil Gaiman. The movie is really excellent, by far the best movie I've seen all summer.
Have fun in Australia. Get a spinning wheel :D
