LOL, first thanks to Steph for pointing out that when I posted my misc Friday post yesterday, it was actually Thursday. So much for being back in the Nashville time zone :)
While I was thinking of it, I wanted to pop into the blog and mention that the spring sale on all fabrics at Textile Fabrics is happening from May 5th - 17th. I'd point out that May 17th is conveniently my birthday, but that hint would really be for Tim and I'm pretty sure after fabric shopping in Tokyo, he's convinced I have more fabric than I'll ever need. All in-stock fabrics are 30% off during the spring sale, so it's definitely a good deal. I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but Textile Fabrics is hands down my favorite fabric store in Nashville. The staff are friendly, the fabric selection is exactly my style, and they have great sales.
This weekend, the spring TACA fair is on at Centennial Park. TACA is the Tennessee Association of Craft Artists and they promote crafts and craftpeople in Tennessee (how cool is that?). The TACA fairs are juried craft fairs - I've heard from a couple of people that competition is stiff to get a booth - and the spring fair is limited to craftspeople from Tennessee. The fiber crafts always feel a bit under-represented to me (totally a case of personal bias), but the range of crafts is always really impressive and interesting.
My Interweave Knits Summer 2008 issue arrived today! I think I'm going to kick back tonight and read through the issue, which looks fairly interesting and features a very cool dress by a fellow Nashville knitter, Knitting Betty. Way to go Betty! Congrats on your first published design!
